TCU Rolls Over LIU
Coming off an exciting win over Stanford, the TCU Horned Frogs delivered a 45-0 victory against Long Island University, sending a clear message to the college football world: they’re here to dominate. With their offensive firepower and defensive capabilities, TCU continues to build momentum heading into tougher matchups down the road.
Cook’s Triple Threat
Running back Cam Cook was the star of the night, racking up three touchdowns and making the LIU defense look like a speed bump. Cook’s effort on the ground, including a 5-yard score early in the second half, showed that TCU’s rushing attack is not one to be taken lightly. It makes no difference, whether pounding through the middle or bouncing outside, Cook’s versatility is a key asset as the season progresses. His 58 yards on 13 carries might not leap off the page, but the guy gets into the end zone when it counts.
Its the Year of the Running Back ☑️ and Cam Cook knows it.

Hoover Stays Hot
Quarterback Josh Hoover followed up his stellar Week 1 performance with another solid outing, throwing for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Hoover didn’t need to pull off any dramatic comebacks this time, but his accuracy and decision-making were on full display as he picked apart the LIU secondary. His connection with JoJo Earle on a 5-yard touchdown pass was just one example of Hoover’s ability to spread the ball and keep defenses guessing. At this point, Hoover is proving he’s more than capable of leading this TCU offense to big things.
Savion Williams’ Surprise Arm
In one of the more unexpected moments of the game, wide receiver Savion Williams showed off his quarterback roots with a trick play that set up Earle’s touchdown. Williams, who hadn’t thrown a pass in his five-year TCU career, executed a perfect throw on a reverse to put the Frogs in scoring position. Talk about a wrinkle in the offense that defenses will have to prepare for going forward. It’s that kind of creativity that makes TCU a dangerous team to game plan against.
A little 🔁 action. That was nice, Savion.

Defensive Capabilities
While the offense was firing on all cylinders, TCU’s defense deserves just as much credit. Shutting out any team in college football is no easy task, and the Horned Frogs’ defense was nearly flawless against LIU, holding the Sharks to just 127 total yards and nine first downs. The Frogs were all over LIU quarterback Luca Stanzani, who finished just 8-of-18 for 60 yards and an interception. The secondary, led by standout cornerback Namdi Obiazor, kept the LIU passing game in check while the defensive line applied relentless pressure. If TCU’s defense continues to play with this level of intensity, opposing offenses are going to have a long day at the office.
🙌 first-career pick for Namdi Obiazor.

Looking Ahead
Next up for TCU is a return to Power Five competition as they look to keep their undefeated season alive. With Hoover settling into his role, Cook’s nose for the end zone, and a defense that’s hitting its stride, the Horned Frogs are shaping up to be a serious contender. Keep your eyes on Fort Worth—TCU football is just getting started!
